A series of paintings recreating the drama and passion of classical music have gone on show.

Bali Sangha-Jenkins' exhibition, entitled Let the Music do the Painting, can be seen at Leicester's New Walk Museum and Art Gallery.

She said: "They are a series of abstract pieces based on the love of classical music, the likes of Beethoven, Handel and Prokofiev.

"It is unpredictable because I don't know what I am going to create until I listen to the music.

"It's about creating art through human expression, passion, movement and energy, through the love of classical music."

The 38-year-old Leicester artist regularly exhibits around the UK and is to showcase her work at a forthcoming exhibition in Casa Batllo, Gaudi Museum and Gallery, in Barcelona.

Since last year, she has had seven solo and 12 group exhibitions.

Admission to the latest exhibition, which runs until May 20, is free.
