awarded the contract for the redevelopment of the new inner relief road. The government has allocated £51m towards the regeneration of the area.

Works have already started along the proposed route; this includes the demolition of 45 Baxter Gate and the purchasing of Pinfold Gate Day Nursery's building. The scheme should help boost Loughborough's economy, spark regeneration and improve the safety in the area. The work is scheduled to start in spring 2014 and the aim is to complete by 2015.
