Countdown begins for local Oliver Production
Only 6 weeks of rehearsals to go until the Lutterworth Musical Theatre Company production is performed at Lutterworth College! The process that began with auditions in September 2011 will result in 6 performances at the college at the end of March 2012 and the stress levels are certainly rising as the performers realise we are already half way through February.
Lutterworth Musical Theatre Company is an amateur group run by volunteers that tries to produce high quality musical theatre for the the local community. The performers are all local people and there is some serious talent out there. Everyone knows the musical now after the televised search for Nancy and Oliver on the BBC. And the touching story of the little orphan boy who finds his way home helped by an assortment of people, (not all of whom have his best interests at heart!) makes an enduring story. Add into the mix the music and lyrics of Lionel Bart and you have a great family night out on your hands.
The committee of the group are now busy with the advertising and ensuring everything is in place for the performances as well as keeping to the budget. Musical Theatre productions with professional musicians are not cheap to produce and the production team spend a lot of time researching the cheapest way of creating the required effects as well as calling in a few favours from local people.
Tickets are now on sale and there is advertising space still available in the programme for anyone interested. Please contact the group via the website, www.lmtc.org.uk for further information.
