Calling all yummy mummies: Counter Culture has found a lovely little shop we think you just might like. Just in time for Mother’s Day, too. Aren’t we good? Leicestershire business Baby Lurve has been operating online for six years now, but its showroom has only been open a few weeks, so we decided to pop in.

A family business which started with just eight baby changing bags being sold on eBay, Baby Lurve now offers a range of high-quality and exclusive brands including Storksak, Mima, Pink Lining, Joolz, Izziwotnot, Cloud B and Be Safe.

Trust us – this is the place to go in Leicestershire for all things baby. Whether you’re expecting for the first time or you’ve already got your own little army of little darlings, there’s something for all mums and price ranges here.

We haven’t even got any Counter Culture babies, but we would quite happily have parted with our cash for some of the items on sale, just to keep them ourselves.

The changing bags, for example, are quite lovely, especially the Pink Lining collection, with its bow and cupcake designs.

Then there are the bags by Babymel, which look more like designer pieces than the wipe-clean, multi-pocketed, ready-to-cope-with-sick-and-possibly-other-bodily-fluids mum-savers that they are. Changing bags range from about £40 to £250, so you should be able to find something, whatever your budget.

American brand Skip Hop has a range of adorable insulated lunch bags and hooded towels in cute bee, monkey and owl designs. We like these a lot.

The Tranquil Turtle and Twilight Ladybug night lights, which project underwater scenes or stars on to your child’s ceiling, are also among our favourite items in store.

If you’re looking for practical pieces, Baby Lurve offers those, too. There’s a wide selection of pushchairs, prams, car seats, carry-cots and the like, and items such as carry potties and alarm clocks.

And it’s not all about the babies, there’s stuff for mum, too. If you’re looking to get back into your skinny jeans after giving birth, there are a couple of different waist wraps – The Cinch and Belly Bandit – that can help bring the tummy back down and improve posture.

There are also pretty patterned nursing covers, for discreet breast.

While the range of products speaks for itself – and there’s even more online – it’s the customer service that Baby Lurve prides itself on.

Natalie Shade, who runs the business with partner Dean Price, says expert advisors are always on hand to help parents with their choices and she reckons there isn’t anywhere quite like Baby Lurve in the whole of the county.

You don’t have to just take her word for it – celebrities including former Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton and The Only Way Is Essex star Georgina Dorsett, the expectant

girlfriend of England footballer Tom Cleverly, are on the client books.

If you’re in need of baby items or you know of a mum who deserves to be spoiled next Sunday, you’d find it difficult not to find something special here.
