County Cup cricket: Town favourites to complete first leg of glorious double
A double slice of glory beckons for both clubs in tomorrow's County Cup final at Grace Road.
Kibworth are looking to land a quick follow-up, having won the Everards Challenge Cup six days ago.
Loughborough Town are out to take Leicestershire club cricket's most prestigious knock-out competition en route to clinching the Everards League title.
They are the clear leaders in the Premier Division going into today's round of matches.
Loughborough start as favourites because of their consistency.
They are unbeaten in the league this year with opening batsman Sunny Patel enjoying an outstanding campaign.
They have clocked up 10 league wins so far this year whereas Kibworth have just two.
But Kibworth have bags of experience in their ranks, with several of tomorrow's squad having played key roles in their national club championship triumphs of 2004 and 2008.
The 40 overs-a-side contest gets under way at noon.
