A couple have formed a charity to raise money for cancer research, after losing friends to the disease.

Richard and Amanda Locke, from Kegworth, set up party4life 2009, which will support Cancer Research UK

Mr Locke said: "Last year, two of my wife's friends died of cancer when they were in their 30s and we know other people who have it.

"We decided we should try to raise money and have some fun at the same time, so we are arranging parties and events."

The first, at Yew Tree Lodge Hotel, Kegworth, on July 18, will include a buffet, disco, raffle and entertainment.
