England Women's captain Charlotte Edwards took time out from preparing for the ICC World Cup to pass on some coaching tips to young players at the City Cricket Academy on Freemen's Common.

And Edwards was also on hand to officially open the new extended bowling run-ups at the Academy.

Anshuman Bhagawati, owner of the Academy, is now hopeful that the England skipper will return for a coaching clinic with some of the girls who regularly use the facility.

The Academy have joined the Leicestershire Youth League for the first time and will field teams at under-11, under-13 and under-15 level this summer.
