Former England and Middlesex batsman Peter Parfitt is the guest of the Leicestershire Cricket Society tomorrow evening at Grace Road (7.30).

Left-hander Parfitt, who was also a useful off-spinner and brilliant slip fielder, played 37 times for England, hitting seven centuries.

The meeting, the last of 2008, begins in the Charles Palmer Suite at 7.30pm.

Paul Edwards will captain Anstey & Glenfield's first team for a second season following the club's annual meeting.

Charlie Wilkes will be in charge of the second team.

Mark Stafford captains the Sunday side, while Lee Myring leads the Thursday evening first team with Neil Cockerill captaining the seconds. Club captain is John Sutherington.

The following officers were elected:

President: David Young, Chairman: John Sutherington, vice-chairman: Simon Abbott, Secretary-treasurer: Richard French, minute-social secretary: Amanda French, groundsman: Richard French, grants co-ordinator: Derek Jordan, fixtures secretary: Mark Stafford.
