Leicestershire's bowlers suffered at the hands of Essex batsmen Matthew Walker and James Foster on the third day of the Championship match at Grace Road.

Walker moved easily from 67 to his century, while Foster helped extend the fifth-wicket stand to 158 as he made 85.

It was not until the final over before lunch that the County engineered a breakthrough – and then Jim Allenby struck twice in as many balls.

First he had Foster caught behind by Tom New, then Ryan ten Doeschate followed edging the next delivery to Boeta Dippenaar at second slip. That left Walker unbeaten on 116 with Essex 427-6.
