He was unable to explain how £130,000 had passed through his bank accounts, and admitted an offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act. That led a court to grant a Confiscation Order in June this year, paving the way for it to be sold.
The £70,000 will be retained as public funds.

“I disagree georgeisafish, surely seeing someone else driving around in your pride and joy motor is more upsetting to these people than knowing nobody will ever be able to use it? Remember, these criminals are not like the rest of us (obviously, I guess) and they don't function the same.”

“I was watching this car on the original eBay auction and it received bids of £73,850 but didn't meet its reserve so in fact that's £3,850 that Leics Police and, in turn, public funds has missed out on.”

“should have been crushed, treated the same as a rusty old metro. crushing would have sent a much stronger message out to the criminals.”
