Criticism of angling is cast aside
Jon Lakin (Mercury, January 29) states that angling should be banned as it's a blood sport and starving people should be able to eat river fish.
I'm an angler and I don't see any blood when I go fishing, and I don't use hounds to catch my fish for me.
As for the starving people, I think he has watching too much TV, as I don't see too much starvation in this country.
If people did start eating the river fish they would soon all be gone and there would be no anglers' licence fees to replenish the stocks. So where does Jon think they will get fish from?
