Police investigating a theft from a supermarket have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace.

A customer scanned alcohol, a DVD and some food through a self-service till at Sainsbury's in Glen Road, Oadby, but left without paying for them.

Police have released an image of a man they want to question in connection with the incident, which happened at 6.40pm on Monday, February 4.

Pc Joe Parker said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this man in the CCTV image, or who has any information as to his identity, to get in contact with us."

The suspect is white, 6ft, in his 30s, of large build and has short brown hair.

He was wearing a multi-coloured cardigan and blue jeans.
