Daleks and K9, both of Dr Who fame, roamed the museum interacting with guests.
Visitors also had a go at driving a robot in a game of football against friends and family.
Organiser Alan Young, of Robots Live Ltd, said: "It was a great day and a lot of fun. I think it's safe to say the Daleks stole the show.
"Youngsters particularly enjoyed taking on their dads in some of the head-to-head games.
"We normally stage big arena events but this was a chance for people to get up close and personal with the robots and the people who built them."
