Damon tells pupils they can succeed
Venture capitalist Damon Buffini returned to the city he grew up in to inspire future entrepreneurs.
Mr Buffini, managing partner of private equity firm Permira, addressed 30 year eight pupils at an event held at De Montfort University as part of the Yes You Can schools mentoring programme, organised by Kainé Management, of Leicester.

The scheme is designed to raise the attainment of black and dual-heritage pupils through confidence-building workshops and teaching them about further education and work.
Mr Buffini, a former Gateway School pupil who grew up in Thurnby Lodge, has been called "the most powerful black man in the United Kingdom".

He described how he came to be such a success, from his time at Harvard Business School, in the United States, to starting a company which has earned him a personal wealth of £200 million.
He then answered questions from students.
After the event, the pupils who had taken part in the mentoring programme took part in a mini graduation ceremony.
The scheme is supported by Leicester City Council's education department and Loughborough, Leicester and De Montfort universities.
