Dark shadow over cloud bar

The Lincolnshire coast has long been a favourite destination for day visitors and holidaymakers from Yorkshire and the Midlands.

For many years families have visited the traditional seaside resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe and Chapel St Leonards or have opted for the tranquility of Anderby Creek, known as Lincolnshire's hidden coastal gem, set within a coastal conservation area, and nestled between Mablethorpe and Chapel St Leonards.

Where coast meets countryside, Anderby Creek boasts the world's only "cloud bar", miles of unspoilt beaches, open skies, a haven and natural habitat for a plethora of wildlife and lies in the middle of the proposed coast and country park.

All this may be about to change!

N Power Renewables wants to change our beautiful sleepy village, creek and coastline with the proposed Anderby/Langham industrial onshore wind farm. The site will occupy more than 150 acres of unspoilt farmland, historic hedgerows and copses, and tower to a height of 416ft (127 metres) above our famously flat landscape.

Each monstrous turbine will be more than twice the height of Lincoln Cathedral and almost one-and- a-half times the height of the Statue of Liberty

The application proposes six turbines, some within 700 metres of Anderby village properties, and in very close proximity to Anderby caravan sites.

Construction of the site will take 10 months, when residents and tourists will be subjected to severe disruption with over 4,500 journeys being made by HGVs transporting equipment to and from the site.

If approved, this industrial wind farm will:

Change the character of the area from rural to industrial;

Have a vast negative visual impact on the area;

Harm wildlife;

Have a negative affect on property prices;

Cause noise and shadow flicker;

Cause interference to TV and radio reception;

Set a precedent, allowing more and more onshore wind farm applications to infill along our coastline.

Over 90% of residents are opposed to the application.

An action group (AWAG) has been formed to oppose this mindless project to try and preserve the unspoilt nature of Anderby village and Creek for our future generations.

It's time for the "little people" to stand up and be counted. We need holidaymakers and visitors who enjoy our beautiful coastline to help us by objecting to this disastrous proposal. Remember, if this application is approved, it is a green light for more in Trusthorpe, Sutton on Sea, Chapel St Leonards, Ingoldmells and Skegness.

Help us to stop N Power Renewables from ruining your holiday destination. Help us eradicate the "Black cloud over our cloud bar".
