Delays expected around Burleys flyover until weekend because of repairs after crash
Motorists are being warned to expect delays for the rest of the week while repair work is carried out on Burleys flyover.
A safety barrier on the flyover was damaged when an Audi travelling on the inner ring road from St Matthew’s Way to Burley’s Way crashed into it this morning.
Long tailbacks built up in the morning rush hour.
Traffic was initially allowed to use one lane of the flyover before it was closed completely for a safety inspection and repairs.

One lane was due to re-open from St Matthew’s Way to Burley’s Way (westbound) at 4pm this afternoon.
The other side (eastbound) remains closed.
Repairs will continue tomorrow and the city council says it is hoped to complete the work by Friday, although it may extend into Saturday.
Police said no one was injured in this morning’s crash.
