Police investigating a sneak theft from a shop have issued CCTV images of a man and woman they want to trace.

Thieves targeted the shop, in the Saffron Lane area of Leicester last month. One distracted the shopkeeper's attention, while an accomplice raided the till.

The shop, which has not been named, was targeted at 8pm on Sunday, January 22.

Pc Mark Body said yesterday: "I would urge anyone who recognises either image or has any suspicions about their identity to contact the police.

"Even if you're not 100 per cent sure, we would still advise you to come forward as we can quickly eliminate people from our inquiries."

The suspects are both white. The woman is thought to be 19 or 20, 5ft 5in and slim.

She was wearing a furry hooded coat.

The man is about 22, has short black hair and was wearing glasses and a dark coat.
