Driver dies after crash in Barlestone, Leicestershire

A driver has died after a three-car crash in Barlestone, Leicestershire.

The collision happened at about 6.20pm last night on the A447 Hinckley Road, near to the crossroads with Barton Road and Lount Road.

The three vehicles involved in the crash were a blue Ford Focus, a white Peugeot 207 and a black Toyota Corolla.

The driver of the Focus received fatal injuries. He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the Peugeot received serious injuries and is at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire where her condition is described as critical but stable.

The driver of the Toyota was unhurt.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det Con Adam Sparrow by calling 101.
