Little Chef has announced it plans to shut a third of its roadside cafes.

Chairman Graham Sims said 67 of the 161 sites would shut because they have been trading unprofitably for a number of years.

The company has restaurants on the A46 at Thrussington, A47 at Morcott and the A1 at Colsterworth.

Little Chef has not identified the restaurants that are to close.

The cuts will result in the loss of between 500 and 600 jobs across the country.
