A charity fashion show is to take place at Debenhams, in Leicester.

The event, on May 5, will raise cash for Leicester Charity Link, which supports families and individuals who are in poverty, hardship or crisis in Leicestershire and Rutland by linking people to benevolent funds that have money to help.

People who attend the event will be able to get 25 per cent off any purchases made. The event starts at 6.30pm.

The Big Lottery Fund is holding an event to encourage people to bid for cash.

Advisers from the fund, which distributes much of the money for good causes raised through the National Lottery, will be in the city on Monday, March 5, to talk to people about making an application.

The event will be held at Voluntary Action Leicestershire, in Newarke Street, in the city centre, from 10am to 2pm.

Booking for a place on the day is open until Friday, February 24.
