“No real surprise in this result. I'm just amazed folk have forgotten what the last New Labour Government did and the inheritance they left to the nation.

Still, put a red rosette on anything in Leicester and it will get elected!!”

    “Daniel, "Disgusting Comments"?
Did you hear his BNP style rhetoric?
At the moment Muslims are the soft target but the UKIP & BNP will soon turn on you.
Pandya is a blind facsist, not even from Leicester!!!
They just want to divide our Successful Multicultural City!!
    Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish!!!”

“It just hit me. Does anyone else notice that Jonathan Ashworth looks uncannily like John Parrott the snooker player?”

“Now he has been elected, I wonder if Jon Ashworth will start reusing his full name 'Jonathan' which he dumped to get away from his very close association with Brown?

    Something to watch out for.”

    “@Daniel,

Just to let you know, even though I said what I did about the UKIP campaign, I am a supporter.

UKIP should be embarrassed at their campaigns in Leicester.”

    “@Daniel of Stoneygate,

Whilst I agree that the people of Leicester have voted for 'more of the same' the LM is not grossly biased. The UKIP candidate did not fight a brave campaign. He fought a stupid campaign and did himself no favours making himself look like a buffoon.”

“Oh what a shocker NOT. The former Economics Policy Advisor to Gordon Brown, Jonathan 'Sparkle' Ashworth has been elected.”

“What a disgusting comment below. UKIP fought a brave campaign against unemployment in the face of a grossly biased newspaper and corrupt local politics. Sadly the people of Leicester have just voted for stagnation and the same failed policies.”
