Elliot's Russian mission
Leicester Water Polo club's Danielle Elliot is about to find herself in deep water – and she can't wait.
The 18-year-old former Longslade College student is part of the Great Britain squad which has made the 18-hour journey to Chelyabinsk, in Russia, for the European Under-19 championships.
They open up with a tough match against Greece in the southern Urals tomorrow, having been placed in a group which also features the hosts, Ukraine, Italy and Turkey.
The British girls have just returned from a tournament in Germany where they finished second to France having won games against the Germans and Czech Republic.

"We were disappointed to lose to France but everyone played well," said Elliot, who scored in both the matches that the side won.
Elliot, who plays in the National and Midland Leagues for Coventry, says the GB side has no grand medal-winning ambitions in Russia.
"Two years ago, the squad finished in the top seven which was the best result we have ever had in Europe," she said.
"So we are hoping for top eight and, if we play really well, top six, which would take us to the world championships."
