Next, of Enderby, reports record annual profits of £621m
Fashion chain Next today reported annual profits of £621.6 million, the highest in its 30-year history.
The Enderby group saw profits rise by 9 per cent in the 12 months to January 31, marking a fourth consecutive record year.
The success of Next, which has 530 stores in the UK and Ireland and 200 overseas, comes as many major high street names struggle to stay afloat amid tough economic conditions.
The group, which employs 3,500 people in Leicestershire, reported robust sales in the run-up to Christmas, mainly thanks to healthy online trading.
