Farewell to John Coe, a fine clubman

Many well-known local and international cricketers and sportsmen have attended John Coe's funeral at the Heart of England Crematorium.

Coe, who died aged 78 earlier this month, was a dedicated clubman at Hinckley Town Cricket Club as player, captain, committee man and chairman for more than 40 years.

Among those attending were MJK Smith, James Whitaker, Les Taylor, Philip Whitticase, Russell Cobb, Tim Boon, Carl Crowe, Darren Stevens and Mike Turner, who is now the president of Hinckley Town. Josh Cobb represented Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

Coe was married to Pauline and also leaves a daughter, Michelle, and two grandsons, Andrew and David. Brothers Geoffrey and Trevor flew from Australia to attend the funeral.
