Last orders will be called for the final time tonight at the Pump and Tap.

The pub, whose building has stood in Duns Lane in Leicester's West End for at least 180 years, is being demolished so De Montfort University can build a sports centre.

The Leicester Mercury will be visiting the pub tonight and asking regulars for their memories of it.

Readers are being urged to email in photographs of their final night of the pub, which opened as the Pump and Tap in 1988.

Email pictures with your name, the area in which you live and a short description of your memories of the pub, or what it meant to you, to:

“'Thank you' Cllr Patrick Kitterick for taking away my local pub.
'Thank you' also for destroying the Bow String Bridge. Why are you consulting with the public over the new gateway into the city and not the Bow String Bridge and Pump & Tap? Double-standards Mr Kitterick! Yes, 'well done'! Words fail.....”
