Feeling grumpy
We were in the pub the other night, putting the world to rights, as you do, and we ended up listing the people or things that really annoyed us – grumpy old men I suppose.
We came up with; wheel clampers, overpaid footballers, veggie crusaders, dogs that foul (and their owners), car queue jumpers, overpaid bankers and car parking charges.
I am sure Mercury readers have others !

“The Co-op who thought their financial support to the New Labour coffers would give them the right to carve up thousands of acres of countryside in pursuit of a madcap and ill-thought out scheme called the 'Eco Town'.
The list is endless. I'll stop for a while, draw breath and consider other well placed candidates.”

“Willmott, Kitterick and all their New Labour cronies whose madcap ideas did nothing to improve the standing of the City of my birth.”

“Gordon Brown & Alistair Darling who presided over this dire financial state of affairs and stood idly by.
Prescott, one of the prime movers to abolish the House of Lords and then have the galled to accept a seat in the very same Upper House.
Blair who took us into a war with no strategy for an exit plan.
The adverse effects of all these New Labourites and their supporters on this country will be with us for generations to come.”

“Grossly overpaid:
footballers, bankers, top executives
and anyone working for the foreign office or military that receives a large government grant to pay for their children's education at expensive private schools.”

“Parents who park illegally outside schools, parents who don't control their offsprings, developers who want to spread concrete over our green and pleasant land. I'm sure there are a myriad more.”

“The Leicester Mercury publishing Eric 'The Red' Gooyer's aka Robert Bilson's letters...well, not letters. One liners.
Not really. They do cause some amusement. It is amusing to see how people can follow the failed Labour cause without questioning it or any part of it so blindly.”
