Police and court officials have recovered more than £13,000 from fine-dodgers.

Officers from Leicester's Beaumont Leys and Keyham Lane police stations tracked down the defaulters over three days this month.

With courts staff, they executed 49 warrants at homes across the city. A total of £13,537 was paid in response, while nine people were arrested.

Pc Adam Woolman said: "I am really pleased with the results of this operation and it sends out a clear message that if you don't pay your fines, we will come and find you.
