Firefighters called out after mini-bus and cars set alight in Leicestershire

Firefighters were called out to deal with at least five fires started deliberately over the weekend.

Two cars and a mini-bus were set alight in incidents in Earl Shilton, Ratby and Western Park, while vandals also started street fires in Beaumont Leys and Oadby.

The first incident happened in Mona Street, Earl Shilton, at 6pm on Friday, when a car was set alight. Crews had to deal with a similar incident in Desford Lane, Ratby, soon after 8.50pm on Friday.

The same crew was called out again at 10.10pm, to deal with a street fire started in The Poppins, Beaumont Leys.

On Saturday, a bin outside a house in Raine Way, in The Grange, Oadby, was set alight after 4.05pm.

At 10.45pm on Saturday, firefighters were called to Western Park, off Hinckley Road, where a mini-bus had been set alight.
