Firefighters free horse stuck in mud at Melton

Firefighters rescued a horse after it got stuck in mud next to the River Eye in Sysonby Grange Lane in Melton today.

Crews from Melton, Oakham and the technical rescue unit from Southern station freed the animal after a member of the public spotted the trapped animal at 10.42am.

The horse was being cared for by a vet after the fire crews took two hours to free the animal.
