Flats evacuated
Flats were evacuated as a precaution yesterday when firefighters responded to an alarm at city centre block.
Fire crews were called to Midland House, in Charles Street, at about 2.45pm when an automatic fire alarm went off.
Some of the flats on the sixth floor were evacuated, while firefighters investigated what was happening.
A fire service spokeswoman said it was a false alarm.
