Whissendine: August Bank Holiday weekend sees the return to St. Andrew's Church of the biennial flower festival. This year's theme is 'Charity' (from Corinthians ch.13).

More than 30 arrangements will be on display in the church celebrating both charity in its broadest sense, and depicting a wide range of some of our best-loved charitable organisations.

The church will be open Saturday to Monday from 10.30am. to dusk. Admission is free.

Further flower arrangements will be found in the Methodist Chapel, where refreshments will be served daily.

Tickets costing £5 to include a glass of wine and canapés are available for the preview evening, on Friday, August 28, at 7.30pm.

Numbers are limited. For tickets, send a cheque payable to Whissendine PCC to Mrs D. Dickinson, Lantern Cottage, 77 Main St., Whissendine, Oakham, LE15 7ES.
