A group of 15 men accused of taking part in football violence on the streets of Leicester have appeared in court.

Fighting broke out in Loseby Lane and High Street after the match between Leicester City and Norwich City on February 16 last year.

Two Leicester fans and 13 from Norwich have all admitted their involvement in the disturbance following Norwich's 4-0 defeat at the Walker's Stadium.

Trouble flared when a group of Norwich fans left the match before it finished and headed for the city centre just before 5pm.

The Leicester Mercury reported at the time how shocked shoppers and traders watched the violence erupting.

As many as 30 men were said to have thrown stones at other fans, damaged property and chased a group of men.

Others were said to have taken furniture from a juice bar to use as weapons, before smashing it up on the street.

A witness who saw men bleeding described the scene as "scary" and "like something from a film".

At yesterday's hearing at Leicester Crown Court, city men Graham Antiss (45), of Wycombe Road, New Humberstone, and Damian Antiss (23), of Ditchling Avenue, Dane Hills, denied violent disorder, but admitted causing an affray.

Ten of the Norwich fans also denied violent disorder, but admitted affray.

Three others admitted using threatening behaviour.

All the pleas were accepted by the prosecution, who will be showing CCTV footage of the incident to the sentencing judge at the next hearing on April 8.

All the defendants were granted bail.

The prosecution say they will be applying for orders banning the fans from football matches.
