Garden event for mast fight
An event is being held to raise cash for a fight against a wind farm.
Residents in Queniborough and surrounding villages are battling energy company Scottish Power Renewables, which wants to build a wind farm in the area.
A recent planning application to build a mast to test the wind levels was turned down by Charnwood Borough Council.
However, the company is expected to make another application at a later date.
On Sunday, July 5, people in Queniborough will be opening their gardens to the public. Admission will cost £3, with entry free for under-12s. There will be stalls, teas and cakes between 11am and 5pm.
