Garner signs for Dutch outfit Argos-Shimano
COSBY’S Lucy Garner has decided where she will start her professional cycling career – joining Dutch outfit Argos-Shimano in what appears to be a dream ride for the double world junior champion.
The 18-year-old is making the step up to elite level after successfully retaining the junior road race title she first won at the World Championships in Copenhagen last year in Valkenburg last month.
Garner’s success on Dutch roads isn’t just reduced to her efforts at the World Championships; she also won the European junior title in Zeeland this year and has tasted success on the track too.
She won gold in the team pursuit and scratch race at the Under-23 and Junior European Track Championships in Portugal in July and also silver in the team sprint.

The double world champion had stated in the past that she would love to live and race in the Netherlands and it appears her wish has come true.
Garner’s signature is one of a number for Argos-Shimano with Dutch sprinter Kirsten Wild and German duo Charlotte Becker and Marlen Johrend also joining the ranks.
