Football legend Gary Lineker has saddled up to join TV star Cat Deeley in a new Walkers advert.

The pair star as a lovestruck couple cycling through the British countryside as part of the campaign for Gary's Great Trips.

The new Walkers promotion is offering crisp lovers savings on thousands of days out, from theme park trips to visits to National Trust homes.

The couple visit several of the locations available on their bike – although things don't go quite to plan for them in the advert.

It ends with former Leicester City and England player Gary hitching a lift off some Walkers delivery drivers while munching on a packet of crisps and leaving Cat, the host of US show So You Think You Can Dance, to chase after him on the bike.

He said: "Making Walkers' ads is always good fun for me – last time round I got to star with my fiancĂ©e in the 'Do us a flavour' ad and this time with the beautiful Cat Deeley! There's so much to do here in the UK and Ireland – now thanks to Gary's Great Trips there's no excuse not to get out there and enjoy it."

Miranda Sambles, marketing manager for Walkers, added: "We want people to enjoy their summer holidays here in the UK and Ireland, taking advantage of what the countries have to offer from historic castles to adventurous theme parks."

The ad gets its first terrestrial TV airing during Gok's Clothes Show tonight, on Channel 4 ,at 8.30pm.
