Geordies sure-fire successes
Everybody's favourite cheeky Geordie scamp Chris Ramsey was on fine form as he hosted this corporate-sponsored, chicken-fuelled event.
He kept the energy high and the laughter constant with some playful banter with Nando's employees in the room and some rude tales from his personal life and his infamous appearance on Soccer AM.
The loveable Geordie theme was continued by the first act, Ramsey's friend Jason Cook, who kept the laughter going with tales of parenthood and his escapades with Ramsey.
His set was elevated by occasional interjections from Ramsey, waiting in the wings. This gave the first half an air of friendly spontaneity, with laughs from all directions – even a front-row heckler who was insisting Cook was actually heckling him.

The final two acts were different. Chris Stokes played the nervous, geeky friend who drew laughs from his spindly appearance, nerdy ways and being a vegan.
He almost came unstuck when unexpected pockets of laughter led to his socially-awkward persona becoming a little too real.
Josh Widdicombe churned out a typically accessible set of everyday observations, which kept the room amused but never quite reached the heights of Ramsey and Cook.
