Beedles Lake had plenty to celebrate this week when their juniors finished in a tie for top spot in the England Four Nations final in Colchester.

They will now represent England in the Home Nations final in Spain next spring.

At the Crowne Plaza Golf Resort in Colchester, Beedles Lake, whose junior section was restarted only four years ago, tied top with Hexham juniors.

Patrick Lee, Beedles Lake's junior organiser, said: "The tie meant the discounted score had to be used for the first time in this competition. That saw us finish as runners-up, but both teams go into the final in Spain.

"It is a tremendous achievement for us and a huge thrill. It will take some time to sink in.

"I am so pleased for the team and very proud of them all and what they have done."

Ryan Southin shot 91 gross for the team's best scratch score, with Joe Slater 69 net, Ryan Dealy 70, Sophie Coleman 72, Oliver McGowan 75 and Liam Clark 77 net. Craig Waite was the reserve.
