Cosby have celebrated the opening of a new driving range.

The 11-bay range incorporates a floodlighting system.

Seniors captain David Frith managed the project and he performed the opening ceremony with junior captain Luke Burrows and club captains Francois Ginvert and Sue Taylor.

The range has been sponsored by Ian Shave of IGS-Solutions and Aquarius Bathroom Studio Ltd.

Earlier this year Cosby completed new tees on the sixth and eighth holes and surrounds to the seventh green. Social membership of the club costs £28 plus VAT and this allows use of the range and the other club facilities.

For more information about membership, contact the club on 0116 2864759.

The County juniors have held an order of merit this season for the first time.

A total of 12 counting tournaments have been open to the boys and 11 to the girls with the best eight returns counting.

James Pretty (Longcliffe) topped the boys' gross section on 116 points, including three wins.

His first victory was in the Lutterworth Junior Open and he finished with a flourish by landing the last two junior opens – at Western Park and the Junior Masters at Forest Hill.

Luke Atkins was runner-up on 97 with his Kilworth Springs clubmate Chris Abbott taking the net table on 72 points from Cosby's Kieran Hastings, 50.

Gee-won Park (Glen Gorse) won the girls' net title on 110 points from Kate Frankham (Lutterworth), 101.
