Cosby duo Anders Mankert and Chris Lager have double reason to celebrate.

Award-winning head professional Mankert, who is widely acclaimed as a leading golf coach, has made a major investment in new technology

And his assistant Lager, who first teamed up with Mankert when the pro awarded him a golf scholarship as a young amateur, has secured an exciting new post in the Middle East.

Earlier this year, Mankert won a national online competition when he was voted as the best golf coach for the second successive year.

He has now bought an expensive 'ball flight and tracking radar launch monitor', which he is confident will prove a high-tech boost for his pupils.

He said: "The Flightscope is widely recognised as the best piece of golf equipment currently available, pinpointing and measuring the carry, accuracy and distance of any shot, as well as clubhead and ball speed.

"It allows golfers to develop their games indoors and out.

"It will be a valuable asset to my teaching studio, for pupils of all ages and abilities."

Lager was quick to pay tribute to Mankert for all his help when he heard about his new post, which he will start soon in Abu Dhabi as a member of the teaching team at Yas Links, voted one of the top 25 courses in the world outside America.

Lager said: "I applied a short time ago and was told there were up to 300 applicants from around the world.

"Then I heard I had got into the last four, had a number of in-depth interviews via Skype and, soon afterwards, was told I had been successful.

"It is a wonderful opportunity for me. I am thrilled.

"Anders has helped me to develop my career, culminating in this exciting move to the Middle East, which I am hoping will be a major step forward for me."
