Established in the 1970s by West Virginia resident, Marian McQuade, Grandparents’ Day is a national holiday that recognises all of the hard work and support that grandparents provide for us all year round. In 1990 Age Concern brought the occasion over to the UK but in spite of this it is a sad fact that only 66% of grandparents have ever celebrated Grandparents’ Day.
