Half term activities in Leicestershire
With half term just around the corner here's our pick of some of the great activities on offer in Leicestershire to keep your children entertained:
On February 14 and 15 a craft house will open opposite New Look in the Beaumont Shopping Centre, Beaumont Way Leicester.
On Thursday the theme will be hearts and flowers, children will be able to get involved in making a huge heart for display in the window as well as making their own creations to take home.
And on Friday the craft house will be open to all budding superheroes.

Children will be able help decorate a giant superhero for Beaumont and make superheroes puppets to take home with them.
There will be spot prizes for superhero fancy dress.
Sarah Duffin, centre manager said: "We are looking forward to two days of fabulous free craft workshops.
Children, parents and grandparents are all welcome to get creative with us.
"The craft house will be open between 11am to 4pm, all the workshops are free."
At the National Space Centre, on Exploration Drive, Leicester from February 9 - 24 science fiction fans can choose from a jam-packed programme of special guests, author appearances and fun activities.
The centre will be celebrating the history, present and future of science fiction during February half-term with loads of activities and a special competition to decide the 'Best Science Fiction Book of All Time!'
Each day the centre will have authors presenting readings form their books and discussing the appeal of science fiction.

Charnwood Museum, Ashby Road, Loughborough has a hearts and flowers valentine's themed gallery game.
The event is free.
There is also a RawArt exhibition showcasing young people's work from February 9 to March 31.

Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Center and Country Park has a Meet the Birds event on February 11.
Visitors will get the chance to meet and fly to fist birds of prey.
There will also be photo opportunities. Adults £2.50, Children £1.50 pay on the gate.
On February 12 there is a meet the ferrets day. Visitors can meet the ferrets and learn more about the role of a warrener.

Wigston Magna Library has a Half-Term Hoopla event on February 11 featuring stories and craft activities.
£1 per child.
Gorse Hill City Farm, Anstey Lane Leicester, February 12 - Farmyard Tales and Trails.
Visitors can enjoy reading farm yard tales together.
Then they can go out onto the Farm Yard Trail - following the clues left by the animals to find someone special and win a prize.
One prize per participating child.

Ashby de la Zouch Library is hosting LOL a Laugh Out Loud event on February 12.
Event organisers promise to put a smile on everyone's face with jokes, funny stories, crafts and activities.

Saturday (9) – February 24 the rangers will be hosting 'Owl Week' with a range of owl themed crafts and activities.
Visitors can design their own Owl Collage 'Tweet Twoo' – all included in your daily admission price.
Leicester's New Walk museum is hosting the 'Inside DNA' event on February 9.
The event is on all day with sessions at 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 4pm.
Visitors can get involved and create beautiful bright pastel beaded bracelets with different animal DNA sequences.
Cost is £2.50 to cover materials.
From February 10 to 16 there will also be Chinese New Year themed activies.

Abbey Pumping Station, Corporation Road, Leicester is hosting an iced buiscuits and valentines cards event on February 12, from 11am - 3pm. Refreshments will be available. Cost is £2 for activities.
Newarke Houses Museums and Gardens, the Newarke, Leicester has a puppet theatre show on February 13 from 11am to 3pm.
Enjoy the spectacle of the Amazing Puppet theatre show featuring 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.
Activities also include a puppet trail and puppet themed crafts.

At the Guildhall in the city a Frosty Fun Day is taking place on February 14 from 11am – 3pm.
Visitors can have a go at creating a winter wonderland whether it's frosty or not, have fun with a "snowball" fight in the Great Hall and make their own sparkly snowflakes, before following the icy trails and quizzes around The Guildhall, and enjoying the storytelling and face painting.
