Hat-trick for Jacob Blyth in win for Leicester City's under-21s
Leicester City's under-21s rounded off the year with a victory at Crewe Alexandra yesterday.
The Development squad, who included Richie Wellens and Paul Gallagher in their ranks, went 2-0 down but stormed back to win 4-2 – thanks to a hat-trick from Jacob Blyth, which included two penalties, and a strike from Michael Cain.

"We started poorly on a terrible pitch and gave them two goals in the first 10 minutes," said Development Coach Steve Beaglehole.
"But we showed a great attitude to get back into the game and take a 3-2 lead into half-time. Michael Cain scored a terrific goal and Jacob equalised when we were really starting to build momentum.

"We brought Joe Dodoo on early because we had to balance the minutes of the under-18 players that played on Saturday and he won a penalty that Blythy put away.
"In the second half, we defended a lot better when we had to, despite it being very hard to play football.
"After 12 games, we're at the halfway stage and we're up there with Derby at the top of the table.
"There is a bit of a gap to the side in third, which is important because I want us to finish in those top two positions so that we make the play-offs at the end of the season.
"We wanted to start this first under-21 campaign right and win games and we've done that in the first part."

“Bloody hell Ash I must come for a lesson. I usually hit both the trees and the ball ends up behind another one”

“Dobbo, sometimes you need to play a attacking midfielder through the middle, behind the front two to get in the gap, the forest game seen Lingard do that, the only problem was the quality of the ball played to him, they were mainly behind him not in front for him to run on to in order to start an attack, what I seen was that he reads the game well and was quick to make his runs, sadly others did not see this, for a 19 year old he has the ability to be quality player, Jacob Blyth came from Leamington in the summer and he is settling in, Pearson will give him his chance when he sees fit.”

“As an after thought if that's the case when Nugent was injured and Waggy needed all the help he could get what did Pearson bring on Linguard rather than a striker. I'm not being awkward maybe I'm missing something. I would appreciate you enlightening me. Stay cool stay happy”

“Dobbo, if we played our youngsters you would be the first on their case if they did not perform or played them out position, Jacob Blyth is a attacker, we have no midfielders coming through the ranks, you cannot have a bench full of attackers, that is why Jesse Lingard is on the bench”
