Heartless owner left kittens to die
Many people give their time and/or money to support and care for unwanted pets. Others however seem content to allow their pets to reproduce with no consideration for the resulting offspring. (Newborn kittens rescued from bin, July 22).
This irresponsible behaviour is bad enough but some pet owners then callously dump the unwanted offspring. Obviously, a few of these people have a scrap of conscience and leave the animals outside rescue centres.
Others are so heartless that they dispose of them knowing that they will suffer and die. If cat owners had their pets, both male and female, neutered such cruelty would be unnecessary.
At least three kittens have been given a chance thanks to a vigilant employee at a recycling centre, but how many are not as fortunate?

“David Gt. Easton. I appreciate you had no luck with the RSPCA on this occasion, I'm just a little surprised and to be honest disappointed. Your home sounds a little like mine, minus the tortoise!”

“I appreciate, karin, the RSPCA's resources are not infinite but we were taken aback somewhat by their attitude in this instance.
There is absolutely no way I would rack up huge vet bills on an animal that wasn't mine. Incidentally, at the time of that incident we had 3 labrador dogs, two adult cats and a tortoise plus 6 hens in the rear garden!!”

“No Adrian - I am not saying animals welfare should be ignored, quite the opposite in fact, all creatures deserve treating with respect and I have deprived a cat of its "sport" by finishing off its prey because I dont believe in cruelty. My surprise is that elizabeth goes all defensive of a natural and cruel killer whilst at the same time she is so condeming of the humane treatment and slaughter of animals for human consumption.”

“The Cat Protection League would be my first contact if I found some abandoned kittens - unless they were particularly cute, then I might keep them.”

“I personally have always found the RSPCA do their absolute best, however, their resources are not infinite and they end up being blamed for failing to assist when ultimately the blame lies with the feckless owner. Neutering is the answer. Assistance with the cost can usually be obtained from various charities.”

“When kittens were dumped nearby to us a few months ago the RSPCA didn't want to know!! Fortunately, they were all re-homed but what an attitude from an organisation that is supposed to care for animals!!”

“@jon - So much for animal welfare then?... are we to stop vets treating tigers etc etc - following your logic this appears to be the answer.
Think I will ignore you self-wisdom.”

“Suprised to find I agree with Elizabeth for once, I'm also suprised to read her defending an animal that is carnivorous with a reputation for torturing (playing with) its terrified prey for hours before finally killing it.”
