Heavy-hitters join Download festival line-up

Download organisers have added a further 49 acts to the festival line-up.

Bands including Papa Roach, Rise To Remain, Gogol Bordello, Lit, Escape The Fate and Blitz Kids were among the dozens of performers confirmed at 6pm last night.

Acts already on the festival bill include headliners Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein, as well as Bullet For My Valentine, Queens of the Stone Age, 30 Seconds to Mars, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Motörhead, The Gaslight Anthem, Enter Shikari, Alice in Chains, Stone Sour and Jimmy Eat World.

The event takes place at Donington Park, Castle Donington, from June 14 to 16.

Other new acts announced yesterday included Buckcherry, Uriah Heep, P.O.D, Newsted, Europe, Katatonia, Graveyard and Turisas, Dir En Grey, Nekrogoblikon, After The Burial, The Ghost Inside, Blacklist Royals, Red Fang, Skin and Sacred Mother Tongue.
