Hinckley United rallied to force a 1-1 home draw against Northwich Victoria.

It was a decent game, played at a good pace with chances at both ends and a draw was a fitting outcome.

Both teams could have scored in the opening minute and they continued to trade chances until the visitors took the lead midway through the first half.

They made ground along their right before Michael Aspin's low cross reached Wayne Riley who drilled a shot into the bottom corner.

After Mark Dudley's long-range shot was saved with some difficulty by visiting goalkeeper Curtis Aspden, the Knitters' Chris MacKenzie kept his side in it with a fine double save to deny Jimmy Spencer and Junior Brown.

The Knitters levelled 10 minutes into the second half. Andy Hall beat a rival before drawing the goalkeeper and slotting the ball home.

Aspden was the busier keeper in the closing stages, saving from Andy Gooding and Jarrad Pickering.
