Leicester drew 0-0 with East Midlands One leaders Derwent in their first game after a two-week break due to the weather.

After soaking up plenty of pressure in the first half at Leicester Grammar School, Leicester dominated the second period.

Their best chance came with five minutes left when Tom Budd narrowly missed the ball at the far post with the goal gaping.

Leicester also drew 2-2 in a re-arranged home tie against Leicester University.

Trailing 1-0 at the break, Leicester hit back with goals from Luke Peabody, on his first-team debut, and Budd after an impressive angled shot.

As Leicester tired the game opened up, and the University side snatched an equaliser with 10 minutes left.

The results mean Leicester move up to second place in the league.

Leicester seconds' good form continued with a thumping 6-1 win at South Nottingham.

Ade Pope converted a penalty-corner before a double from Rich Thurlow sent Leicester into half-time with a commanding lead.

A mistake at the back allowed Notts to get back into the game just after the restart, but goals from Del Cooke, Adam Goodman and a second for Pope completed Leicester's biggest win of the season.

However, Leicester followed that up by falling to their biggest defeat of the season, losing 5-0 at Nottingham HC.

A nasty head injury to full-back Seb Taylor early on meant Leicester played the majority of the match with just 10 men.

But it was a combination of mistakes from Leicester and some good attacking play from Nottingham which saw them go into the break 3-0 up.

Leicester came out fighting in the second half but, as they pushed men forward, they were left exposed at the back for Nottingham to add two more. Leicester remain third in the East Midlands Premier.

Other results: Beeston 3 Leicester 4ths 3, Leicester 3rds 0 Nottingham University 2, Leicester 4ths 1 Coventry & North Warwick 3.
