Olympic hockey player Hannah Macleod has been reunited with her stolen bronze medal.

The 28-year-old Leicester Ladies player sent out a heartfelt plea for the safe return of her prized possession after it was stolen from a Mayfair nightclub in the early hours of Wednesday.

After the appeal, Hannah's medal was posted anonymously to the England Hockey HQ in Buckinghamshire.

In a statement, Hannah said: "I'm extremely pleased to have been reunited with my medal. It's a huge relief."

But she will have to wait a little longer to get her hands back on the medal as it is being kept by police investigating the incident.

Hannah's Team GB colleague, Alex Partridge, had his bronze medal taken on the same night. It was still missing last night.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the thefts.
