Wigston: Making a return visit to Wigston Liberal Club, Chris Stanbury gave a programme which demonstrated both his skill as an organist, and his ability to please, with an excellent variety of sounds.

Performing on his Yamaha Stagea – specially imported from Hong Kong – Chris played music ranging from pop, jazz, big band sounds and classical.

An orchestral rendition of Tico Tico arranged to include Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumble Bee was particularly well received.

The programme of more than 20 pieces included music by Bach, Bacharach, Basie, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Ted Heath and Jon Williams.

With the audience reluctant to let him go, Chris concluded the concert with Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March; the chorus, Land of Hope and Glory, guaranteeing audience participation.
