The founder of a vegetarian and vegan society has won a national award.

Sue Daniels won the Vegetarian Society's Veggie Achiever Local Contact Award 2011.

Sue, 60, of Saddington, founded Leicestershire Vegetarian and Vegan Group.

She said: "It's brilliant to win the award. I've been on a high since I found out."

Mrs Daniels was recognised for her hard work in running the group almost single-handedly for the past 10 years.

Sue organises monthly meetings and social activities and supports animal charities.
