Hundreds of McFly fans turn out to welcome idols back
Members of boyband McFly were greeted by the screams of about 300 teenage girls on a visit to a store yesterday.
Harry Judd and Danny Jones visited PowerPlay, in Leicester's Highcross centre, to autograph copies of their first single in two years.
Danny said: "It's great to be here and it is really exciting because we haven't done signings in a couple of years.
"It is good to see people still care."
Fan Karen Walters, from Uppingham, was at the front of the queue as the musicians made their way down to the shop to autograph copies of Party Girl shortly after 4.30pm.
Karen, 21, who was with two friends, said: "It was brilliant. They are our two favourite members of the band so it has been great.
"I was queuing from 10.30am because I'm a big fan and it was my first time meeting them.
"I was going to come at 7am but there wouldn't have been much point – no one was in the queue behind us until 1.30pm."
Kim Murphy, 16, from Wigston, said: "Loads of us came straight from school and it's been really exciting.
"I've loved them since I was about nine and I've been to see them seven times but this was the first time I've met them."
Her friend Emily Crosby, 16, also from Wigston, said: "They were awesome."
